About Us: The Council of the Eagle and the Condor – The Unification Process

The Council of the Eagle and the Condor - The Unification Process

June 14th, 2021

The Original Nations from across the American Continent have been organizing to achieve a reunification process that will once again bring them together to be the large family they have always been. As part of this process, in 1990, representatives of the Original Nations gathered in Quito, Ecuador where the Prophesy of the Eagle and the Condor was promulgated to bring together the Original Peoples from North and South. Along this path, within the decade that proceeded, the Original Nations consolidated their positionalities, and those of their communities with respect to national governments, international bodies, such as the United Nations, and the treaties that have emerged to protect or restrict the rights of Indigenous Peoples and those of Mother Earth.

As part of this reunification process, On June 2 of 2012, representatives from the Original Nations got together in White Earth Indian Reservation to honor the vision of the elder Akwesasne Mohawk Jake Swamp, who had the dream that direct us to organize a condolence ceremony to heal the wounds of the past so we could move into the future.

On June 2, 2012, a Condolence Ceremony, under the direction of Tom Porter, was celebrated at the Headwaters of the Mississippi River as a way of preparing us to receive the new time and to honor the old age prophesies that announce that the New Dawn of Indigenous People was imminent.

Continuing with this work, in May 15-20 of 2013, native spiritual authorities from all over the world gathered in Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, to listen to Mother Earth for a way out of the world and civilizational crises that we are living. The Original Nations were reminded that all beings, including celestial bodies, are integral components of life systems, and must be taken into account to recover balance and harmonization with Mother Earth. Our Mother also reminded us that, when the Eagle Peoples were to meet with the Condor Peoples, the Unification Process and the New Dawn would begin. This preparation requires all cultures to unify with Mother Earth through the Original Instructions. This is best known as the Unification Process. The result from the meeting in Sierra Nevada resulted in the creation of Five Earth Mandates. These Mandates will help us to direct our work to accomplish our task and to solidify the Unification process. The Mandates that were defined in Sierra Nevada are the following:

  • The Creation of the Grand Council of Indigenous Spiritual Elders.
  • Protection and reactivation of Sacred Sites.
  • To build Houses of Original Wisdom.
  • To promote Intercultural Dialogue and Exchange.
  • Strengthen Biocultural Territories.

With these five mandates in mind, between April 28 through May 8, 2021 a group of traditional leaders and spiritual guides from across Abya Yala got together to consolidate the first Council of seven members.
